Double murder-suicide victims stabbed, killer hangs himself
BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - Details continue to emerge in what police are calling a double murder-suicide.
Manatee County deputies believe 59-year-old Galo Felix Caballero Rivero is responsible for the murder of a woman and child whose bodies were found outside a Bradenton home along 38th Avenue.
Deputies say 50-year-old Odalys Martinez-Castiles and 12-year-old Zakyel Hernandez were stabbed to death before Rivero hung himself.
Farbo lives down the street from where this happened.
He and his neighbors are in shock.
"It's horrible, especially if you have children around, kids playing around, it's pretty horrible," said Farbo.
Deputies received an anonymous call from a man around 2 o'clock Monday afternoon saying there were two dead bodies in the front yard of the home. When deputies arrived, they didn't find any bodies outside, but discovered three bodies inside the home.
Investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what transpired at the home.
"We know we've been here in 2009 for one domestic violence report and talking to some of the neighbors, there is sometimes a lot of arguing that goes on at this residence," said Sheriff Brad Steube, with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
A woman who also wanted to remain anonymous says she was friends with the female who was killed. She says they would confide in each other sometimes.
"She would just say that he was a really jealous man," the woman says, "but that's pretty much all that she would say."
