JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Neighbors say six shots rang out at Shirley Oaks neighborhood in Oceanway Friday afternoon.
Five people were shot and four of those lost their lives, authorities said.
One of the dead, an adult male, is the suspect in the case, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
According to Mike Bruno, JSO's Director of Investigations and Homeland Security, the surviving victim is suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound and is currently in surgery.
Children are among the victims, police said.
JSO received a 911 call just before four p.m. and came out to the 1300 block of South Shirley Oaks Drive.
Police have not made next-of-kin notifications and are still working to identify all victims.
There was a truck packed full of boxes in the driveway and Bruno said that the shooting was a possible reaction to a domestic issue at the home.
